I just attended a dental meeting put on by our local dental society, Northern California Dental Society. Our speaker Dr. Gillis gave us a nice overview of dental implant history and their success as well as failures. Understanding the complexities of dental implants and the pre-surgical planning is important for longterm success. One of the ways I feel is important to the planning process is using our New Tom cone beam digital scan to evaluate the height and width of available bone. The old adage’ “measure twice, cut once” works for dental implants.
